calling all shabby chic-ers...

this one's for you.  when i picked these babies up, i envisioned them in a lacquered black with some modern gold pulls, but as i started on them i kept thinking, "do it...go distressed".  almost every custom refinishing project i've been contacted about involves distressing, so i thought i'd give it a go since it seems to be such a popular style in my area.  my style is more vintage modern and when i move out of that it's harder for me to visualize the finished product.  but guess what...i love them.  the hardest part came when trying to style them for photos - i have NO shabby chic-like accessories!  so i ended up putting together an industrial eclectic sort of deal.  i will definitely be picking some up next time i'm out thrifting so as to not run into this problem again.

the before
don't you love the chunky pulls?
