I can't tell you how much I would love to put this desk in my bedroom as my sewing/computer table. You see, this is the color that is to be the master accent - mixed with lots of black. Maybe as I was choosing the color, I wasn't yet sure if I was going to be selfish and keep it for myself.... It's going in the shop anyhow.
The desk, before.
After.
Ooooo! Love!

I had bedroom furniture just like this when I was a kid (in the original form). Sold it all to a guy who sublet an apartment. He had a daughter. Really weird to see it painted. But very cool!
ReplyDeleteWell, I have racked my little green-loving brain, and there is nowhere in my house to put this bad boy. But I do love it so, and if I had anywhere for it, I would take it in a heartbeat! GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteThe green looks great, you were totally right changing the color. And, against the blue it matches your logo. :) ~Marily

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Love the BOLDNESS the green adds to the piece and space. Super job!
ReplyDeleteI host a weekly linky party on Tuesdays called Terrfic Under Ten. It's for projects made for $10 or less. I would love to have you link up sometime!
I love it!! That emerald green is delicious!! I featured this today on my blog! Every Thursday I show a Before & After....came across yours this morning and loved it! As if I don't have enough half-finished projects floating around, now your desk is making me want to run out and buy some bright paint and cover something with it. If my husband freaks out I'll blame it on you. :)

Visiting from FJI. I absolutely love that color. It's so bold and striking! I can definitely imagine it in a room with lots of black and white.

Love it! I always love your stuff. :) Thanks for linking Flaunt it Friday. xo
ReplyDeletethat looks gorgeous! this is one of my fave combos- i did a dresser like this last summer for a client in kelly green with white hardware and it was one of my faves. i love it in the french style- so dramatic and awesome!
ReplyDeleteHi - came over from Funky Junk Interiors. Love the color! Do you hand paint or use a sprayer? The finish looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love this green! It's not the same half-pastel-half-bright grass green everyone else is using... it's bold and awesome. I featured you today on my furniture round up :)

ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic!!! I just picked up a similar dresser with mirror and have plans to do something similar. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous...the color is perfect!
ReplyDeleteThat is incredible! The transformation is just beautiful! I have to agree with another reader and say how glad I am that you kept it bright solid without distressing it. It's so much more elegant this way!
ReplyDeleteThat piece is so incredibly beautiful! I find french provincial pieces a lot but would never have thought to go so bold. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love the color. Do you mind sharing the paint manufacturer and color?
ReplyDeleteI'm coming to you from LGN...and am now a subscriber - your stuff is fantastic!
I LOVE this color!! Great job!
ReplyDeleteWow, love that color! Do you share? I want to use that on my kitchen table!

LOVE this makeover! That color green is so lush and deep and beyond. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration! I found a nightstand in the same white/gold french style and repainted it yellow, check it out! http://craftersindisguise.blogspot.com/2011/05/refinished-french-provincial-nightstand.html
ReplyDeleteWow this turned out great! What type of paint and finish do you use. How many coats do you typically apply, do you use a brush? I was re-finishing an old dresser and am not happy with the paint I'm using.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is stunning!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter has a bedroom suite exactly like that, it used to be mine. I'm getting ready to paint it, but not sure if the top needs special prep before painting. Any direction you could give me would be so helpful!

ReplyDeleteAll the lighting is fantastic in each picture!
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I have to disagree here....the first color was much better than this one:) It looks like grass, but hey, if YOU are happy with it...that is all that matters. The white handles stick out like a sore thumb......and the original color is much more elegant and classy. Sorry, but just mho.
ReplyDeleteWhat finish did you use for the green paint? I want to paint a desk the same and wanted to see how you did it.
