Fall Inspiration

I've lived in Arizona for almost 3 years now, but it's still weird for me to get excited for fall when it's 100 degrees outside.  Here in the desert we don't experience four seasons.  We get great weather for winter, then it's hot, hottest and then down to hotter for the rest.  We've had an abnormally warm fall, but now it's cooled off for good and we turned on the heater last night for the first time.  (Never mind that it was set at 74 degrees and I was in my pjs, a hoodie and uggs while writing blog post and shivering).

Turning on the heater has finally signaled the start of fall for me.  Better late than never, right?  These spaces, though not all designed with it in mind, remind me of autumn.

  1. I really like those colors together, year round. I was fighting my lack of love for color but have decided to just go on and embrace it.

  2. I can definitely see fall in these photos. Especially the one with the wicker covered bottles. That's how I decorate for fall.

  3. I'm so glad you turned on your heater!! I have been freezing but couldn't decide if it was too early. Now if Cameron complains I will tell him yours is on.

  4. I'm in the Bahamas and like you it's difficult getting excited for fall when there are any fall colors. I do like your color choices though. I'm a new follower, please drop by when you have a chance. http://decoratingwcents.blogspot.com

  5. Great post - and I must say it threw me for a minute, because I've been in that dining room! It's my sister-in-law's former house and I miss it terribly. It's really beautiful!

  7. all those warm woods definitely remind me of autumn... the ceiling in the 2nd picture is GORGEOUS and the doors in the 5th are just as beautiful. I live in Vegas... so I totally feel you in the lack of seasons department. Ah well, we can pretend! :)
