a vintage goldmine

Once upon a time - last week - the most amazing thing happened.  The nicest lady I've never met, sent me an email asking if I'd like to purchase her vintage furniture.
A goldmine I tell you.

I opened the email and found an original Henry Link Bai Hai bedroom set.
A tall dresser...

two nightstands and a king headboard.  I told Zac I wanted to keep this one since we'll be upgrading to a king soon (hallelujah for a no one on my side!), but I'm not sure whether or not he'll be game.  Sometimes he disappoints and gives the thumbs down.  Boo.

A mirror and another dresser...

Remember this one?

Also, a vintage campaign dresser...
 and the matching nightstand...

Remember this one?

She won't be back in town until Thanksgiving…28 days and counting till pick-up.

  2. What great luck! When you said your husband sometimes says no and disappoints, it made me feel better. Nobody talks much about how the men in their lives play into their decorating process. My boyfriend nixes some of my decorating decisions and sometimes I feel like I am the only one that doesn't have carte blanche in the decision making!

    1. Well, feel better because he does! And with weird things too. I never know what he's not going to like or go along with.

  4. Natalie do you have anyone interested in the campaign dresser yet? I might be interested in commissioning you to do it for either the new baby's room or Rhett's room. I've been looking for something just like it and we've got so much going on fixing up the house right now, I'm not sure I'm up for a furniture overhaul on top of everything else! :)

  5. I LOVE that campaign dresser... I would leave it as is because I am looking for a new wood toned dresser. I have a great mid-century modern dresser in my master bedroom right now, but my dog chewed on one of the corners, and I am not sure that I am up for fixing it :(

  6. That is insane. I can't even decide which set I like better... I know we're taught not to make things too matchy matchy but ack! Amazing too see so much matching goodness under one roof.

  17. Wow!
I had that bamboo furniture when I was growing up! It was a light bluish-green. I loved it. I know my mom sold it, and now I wish I had it.
    You did a beautiful job!
