On Saturday, Zac and the kids went to my parents' to play so I could have some uninterrupted work time. They have the most amazing "grandparents" house with all the best toys. My kids love it there. They brought home two pitchers of fresh squeezed orange juice to boot!
Charlotte was loving being pulled in the laundry basket.
While they were gone I worked on this.
My original thought when I purchased this beauty, was to cover it in a really modern fabric and turn it into a framed cork board. Then I decided it would make a great chalkboard.... No, maybe a mirror? A mirror it is! How you ask? Very simply.
After the paint dried, I used a web clamp to pull the corner joints in tight and added a little wood glue.
Once the wood glue dried I applied silicone to the edges and laid the glass down. Next, was the hardest part...I had to wait three hours for the silicone to dry enough to pick it up to look at it.
If you're interested in this beauty, it's in my shop.

  1. It is beautiful!!! You couldn't see how pretty the frame was until you painted it.

I am also obsessed with that powerwheel.

  7. Natty this is almost as beautiful as you are! Wow I was taken aback by your profile photo. Heehee sorry. I just love this mirror though! I have an artificial tree in a corner of my living room that I have been wanting to replace with something else and I think you just inspired me! Did you have the glass cut to fit for this or did you already have it?
I would be delighted if you would link this up to my VIP party today :) http://designergarden.blogspot.com/2011/03/guess-what-were-back-online-for-weekly.html
