Drapes: The Finished Product and a Cost Breakdown

Triple Pleat Curtains

They are finally complete!  I had planned on finishing them last week until it came time to insert the hooks and couldn’t.  I had sewn the pleat tape on upside down…typical.  So I got frustrated and left them.  Bleh.  I finally mustered the motivation to start picking stiches yesterday – got two inches and almost gave up again.  Then it occurred to me that I could just sew another strip of pleat tape right over the top.  It worked like a charm.  This is why I do not like sewing.  I make so many bone-headed mistakes!  I wonder…is this just a learning curve thing, or do I lack the common sense required to be a good seamstress?

Anyhow, that’s all just water under the bridge.  My drapes are done and they look fantastic!

  1. These look fabulous! Love the detail of the pleat. I'm the same way when it comes to sewing, there's so many steps and so much thinking involved. I always seem to skip a step somewhere along the way! I'm hoping it comes with time :)

  2. They look awesome....seem ripping is part of sewing...at least for me I don't think I've ever done a project that I didn't have to pull out the seam ripper.
