I guess I'm on a little bit of a mid-century modern kick because three of my transformations this week happen to be of mid-century furniture. I can't help it, I love the clean modern lines from this era.
This ombre desk was painted and styled with a girls' room in mind. It's paired with an antique ice-cream parlor chair.
Here it is before.
And after.
If you're interesting in trying something similar on your own, the colors are: Benjamin Moore's Touch of Pink, Little Piggy, Delicate Rose, Hydrangea Flowers and Raspberry Blush at 50%.
The brass hardware is original.
This desk is available for purchase in the shop.
That is so pretty! I love the way you painted the chair so it goes but doesn't completely match. I'd love to have a little girl's room stylish enough for a piece like this.
ReplyDeleteThis piece is definitely swoon worthy! Love how you did the chair! I'm currently painting 4 of them for my dining room.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute. I love how you did the chair and desk in different shades.

ReplyDeleteSooo pretty. I can't wait to see what's next.

ReplyDeleteI'm in love. That is so freaking cute! I love the coral / pink tones but haven't seen them show up much on painted furniture. You have a good eye for color. I would have agonized over all those paint samples! ~ Christie

:-) over from MADE. i love the dipped chairs!! So, so fun.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! This has so many possible options - different colors, different pieces of furniture. I've seen the ombre curtains, but didn't think to diy with painting furniture. I may try it for my office! I'd love for you to share this at my blog party Tuesday's Nursery - its for all ages of kids decor - First Tuesday every month. I hope you can make it - I'll keep the linky open for several days. Nan

ReplyDeleteI love the ombre desk! I'm waiting to find the right dressers for my girls to do the same thing to them (one coral/pink and the other robin's egg blue).
ReplyDeleteRihtaš mal? Rihtaš?
ReplyDeleteI have that desk! and... four cafe chairs with nothing to do around here. I am dreaming of this for my little girl's room! Now, I just have to do some repairs on the desk... the center drawer fell apart about a year ago. Thanks for the inspiration!
