Transformation Week Day #1

Hello all!  I hope you all had a relaxing weekend.  I was so glad to have Zac home.  Although, when he's been gone for a week, I think I drive him a little nuts because I just want to follow him around. :)

Today is the Transformation Week kick-off.  First up is this darling mid-century modern dresser in navy blue.  It is going in a little boys' room along with this Serena and Lily bedding.  Together, they are going to make for a very stylish room.

Here it is before.

And after.

I stumbled upon this set of vintage Norman Rockwell prints at an antique mall last week and knew they would be a great starting point for Colby's room.  I brought them home to a very excited 6 year old.  He literally analyzed them for fifteen minutes, then promptly gave them his stamp of approval.  I think he said something along the lines of, "Totally cool, Mom".

The paint color is Benjamin Moore's Admiral Blue in Satin.

See you tomorrow for Transformation Day #2!

  5. Screams boy! I love those prints! I can remember seeing some like those in my grandparents house and loved looking at them. Question: what other brands of paint have you used? Why do you like B.M the most?

  23. Just found your site via D*S and just had to say: GORGEOUS. That blue is amazing, and the finish is so smooth. I would love a dresser like this. Cheers! I will now be reading your blog faithfully.

  24. Was wondering wash the dresser laminated. It looks like it had veneer over it. If so do you use a special paint? My site is http://routinehabit.com/blog, Mines an organizing blog, however I do also document any D.I.Y projects.

  25. I am enthralled with the blue of the dresser. IKEA recently came out with a line of bedroom dresser in the blue color and I have had my eye on one of them. This repainted piece gives me ideas of my own to do! I have a question: what did you mean by taping off the drawers?
