gray vintage dresser :: before and after

I love gray as a neutral - it's feminine, it's masculine.
This dresser happens to be going in Ricki's master bedroom.

Here it is before…with the drawers out.  I'm always too lazy to put them back in for a photo just to take them out again.  You're just going to have to use your imagination.  :)

The paint is a satin finish in the shade just lighter than I used on one of my favorite dressers of all time.
The color is BM Timberwolf.

  1. When you use a satin finish, do you put a poly finish, wax or just leave it like it is? Very pretty!

    1. I leave it like this. But if I were using a softer paint like latex, I would go ahead and use a protective coat.

  3. I'm always amazed at the smooth finish you get! I spray as well, but always end up with a bit of orange peel! What's the secret?

    1. What kind of sprayer are you using? Try a fine finish tip if using airless. If not, add Flotrol for latex to thin and slow dry time. Try BM Advance paint. Its amazing.

    1. It's a Paul Peel my mom passed onto me from 1891. You can find them on ebay for $100-$150.

    1. Can you get a sample? It might've been a hair darker than the photos, but not much if anything.
