a playroom makeover

the little girls had raging fevers through the night.  zac has been out of town for work all week {i can tell you that now because he's coming home tonight... enter the hallelujah chorus} which means i've had no tag team for the middle of the night sick stuff :(  i woke up this morning feeling nauseous from lack of sleep...bleh.  on to more exciting things...

it's not very often that i see a room i'm so completely inspired by, but a couple weeks ago i did.  immediately the images spurred my imagination into overdrive and i've been dreaming of overhauling our playroom since.  i've been thinking bold paint colors, custom kiddie artwork, window treatments and new toy storage in the closet.  I've been wanting to sit down to draw it up...but it hasn't happened yet.  this weekend maybe???

The images are from the Style at Home booth at Toronto's design show.  Isn't it amazing?
and here's what we're working with {no staging, of course}...
we've set the budget for the project at $250.  hopefully zac can stick to his measly $50 for the closet shelving because i'm really going to need the rest.  i've actually never taken one room as complete inspiration for something and tried to copy it completely {minus the non-kid-friendly elements}, so i'm a little nervous as to how it's going to work out?

  3. We just repainted two rooms in our house... I just picked colors I liked. Now I am kicking myself, it never occurred to me to look for ideas of rooms already done first.

  7. What a fun project. Playrooms are always a fun thing to do. I feel like you can do so many things you really wouldn't do in the rest of the house. I can't wait to see what you do. I am following you now so I don't miss it. :)
